Yes, silicone adhesive tapes are becoming available now.

However, the second tape you list 'removes cleanly after use', and that is NOT what you want. The chemistry of silicone adhesives is complex, but let's just say you want a permanent adhesive, not a removable one.

These are single-sided tapes. What you probably want is a 'transfer tape': just the adhesive layer without any tape carrier. This lets you bond silnylon to silnylon properly. You can get this from some of the makers of spinnaker fabric, like Contender and Bainbridge.

If you use a tape with a carrier, avoid the PTFE carriers as they are not very strong. The polyester carriers are strong.

Yes, I have been bonding silnylon fabric for years, and it works well. But the proper tapes have been rather expensive.

Cheers

Almost the entire silicone tape stock has dissapeared just a few hours after I posted here… is there some conspiracy to keep MYOG makers away from silicone tape?

Roger, thanks for the excellent info.

Snuffy, thanks for the link. Not sure I will if I will buy that as importing from europe is much more expensive.
