Which SP trek 900 fits the bushbuddy best?

Both Bush Buddy Ultra and Snow Peak Trek 900 are from 2007. My whitebox stove is currently AWOL, but I'll try to find it later today. The stove fits neatly between the two Bush Buddy pieces and does not make it any taller, nor does the stove rattle around inside the Bush Buddy. Perfect fit and the perfect backup!

Yeah, but not for me. Ok, the pocket rocket is! I recently gave my other Bush Buddy to a friend who is trying to lighten the load. If it fits, he'll get it. He was using a homemade stainless steel stove that weighed about 3 pounds, with a 2 quart aluminum pot. The BB in the photo was the one I got for my emergency road kit (still unused!), but it will be replaced with a Ti-Tri for it's wood/alcohol/esbit options. Look for this BB to be sold in the near future.

My Snow Peak 900 is from several years ago (between five and eight: I bought it when I was living in America and can't recall the exact time) so I presume that it's the older version. The Bushbuddy I have, on the other hand, is just a couple of months old and it's a perfect fit.

Does the bushbuddy fit into the BPL Firelite Sul 900?

I recall reading that it will nest inside, but it's too short to put the top on. I have a SnowPeak 900 and a SUL 1100, which both work great with the bush buddy. I do not have a SUL 900 to confirm what I've read, but you can read the specs for each and see for yourself.

Backpacking Light designed the FireLite SUL-1100 to fit the Bushbuddy perfectly inside. The FireLite SUL-900 is not deep enough to enclose the Bushbuddy and still allow placement of the lid atop it.

Unfortunately, the UL 1100 hasn't been for sale for quite some time, and I'm not sure that they plan on stocking it again anytime soon.

I've also noticed that the BB is also out of stock. I was going to purchase it from BPL (faster shipping and the import taxes were already taken care of), but had to order it from the designer in Canada.

We're working our hardest to get both Bushbuddies and all Ti pots back in stock soon. It's been a challenge, but we're just about there.

This may be slightly off-topic; but does anyone know why you aren't supposed to do any wood burning in the Caldera Cone (the website doesn't really state why)? The Ti-Tri looks remarkably similar in design and materials to the Caldera Cone yet it is also rated for woodburning. Any ideas why? Has anyone tried woodburning in the Caldera Cone with the pot propped up a little higher to allow the fire to breathe?

Any wood fire hot enough to do its work will almost surely destroy the thin sheet of aluminum that the cone is made from. Please, don't ask me how I know this, Craig.

I guess that makes sense. I guess I'm more confident in aluminum's heat resistance than I should be; I'll heed your advice on this one. I guess it also makes sense that the Ti-Tri is titanium, hence the "Ti," DUH!
