Those who use em: how often/how many miles do you switch out old for new ones?

Thanks,
Margaret

I use them and I'd say they're good for about 2-3 years. I have not used one yet for 3 years yet though. If I was a thru-hiker long trail hiker, it would be different, but I only hike for 16-17 days a year and do training otherwise for the 100 days prior to the hike.

I've got 400-500 miles on mine right now (probably 2 years) on my first pair and they are just now getting to the point I'm considering replacing them. Keep in mind about 1/3 of these miles are from general use in my daily shoes so that may be lighter on them than trail use.

right now mine have a nice groove where my toes are at this point but they don't *need* replaced, probably just washed for the first time :)

The downside is the break in time kind of sucks for me. I have an average arch, but I like the greens which are mid to high, that means 2 weeks of uncomfortable arches until they break in. I haven't heard much on the molded superfeet though, perhaps that'd be a good way of going.

I decided to pay the big bucks and got a pair of the molded green Superfeet to try out. It still took them around 2 weeks to break in sufficiently to eliminate any arch discomfort. The thing that bugs me the most with them right now is the squeeky noises they make when I walk. I sure hope that goes away eventually! Am planning to do around 40 miles with them in the Grand Canyon this weekend to see how they feel.

I have a pair that I still use from 8 years ago- more miles than I can count. Have a pair in every shoe I own (street and outdoor) except my ice boots as they actually have a supportive footbed. I put alot of miles on them and given that they use plastic for the arch support, I can't see a need to replace them.

Hi Margaret!
I've been using my green ones for several years now and see no reason to replace them just yet, even though toe indentations are firmly worn in. I'll wait until the plastic arch delaminates from the bed, which I've heard they'll do, and then buy a new pair.
Happy trails!
