Caldera Cone+Tea Light Stove

That's Jason Klass' set up (550 ti mug + tealight stove + home-made screen)! He doesn't use the awkward caldera cone at all… maybe that's why his boiling times are faster than 14 minutes. :)

Ben, I know how much you love the Caldera cone….
For me it has been the best result from a Tea Light, however I just estimated the distance from the tea light to the pot, (see the silly stand from a previous experiment) if I move it a bit closer I might get a faster boil.

Binned over a dozen stoves? Well, it just means that both your stove-making expertise and your expectations have gone up. :)

My stove making expertise is at a stalemate, but my awareness that others can do it better has been enhanced. This was my second purge in a few weeks,I still have several left.
What I have noticed is that some designs work very well in some situations,
particularly in my backyard, however in the bush once you add wind,rain,fatigue and flies most let you down. The Caldera I think will be more like the Trangia, people like it because it always works not because it is light or that efficient. Considering that I don't cook, the simmering and extra capacity of the Trangia is lost with me and I think that 150g for the full set up is pretty competitive.
