So, I just ordered a Lunar Duo from SMD and, after pitching it once to test it out, I've come across a make or break issue that will determine whether or not the tent works for me.
Hopefully, the other Lunar Duo owners out there can help me out:
Given that the two short aluminum tent poles that go above the doors actually need to be inserted from *inside* the tent, how do you pitch it in the rain without getting a bunch of water inside?
The way I was pitching was like this:
1. Lay it out flat.
2. Fiddle around and flip up the vestibule, unzip the doors, and insert the tent poles.
3. Lay it out flat again.
4. Stake out the corners.
5. insert trekking poles in the grommets.
6. Tension appropriately.
It's step 2 that would get the tent interior all wet.
I need to find a better way. SMD suggests crawling under the tent after laying it out flat in order to prevent the rain from entering, but I'm hoping someone here has a better solution because I really like everything else about the tent.
