Do you stake down your bivy if you’re not expecting inclement weather?

I have never staked out a bivy. If my bivy is unrolled, I'm sleeping in it, or it has something heavy on top of it (like a water bottle) if it's otherwise windy out and my bivy is unrolled.

sweet ok, thanks. i want to get a bivy in order to minimize my shelter set-up time, not having to stake it down will definitely help in that department.

i want to roll my bivy up with the sleeping bag and pillow in it, then stuff that in a bag.. that is the fastest setup/takedown scheme i can imagine (of course i'll have to air it out in the morning..)

Mine doesn't even have a place to stake it.

Mine doesn't have stake out points either…although I thought the ones that did were to help keep the bivy in place during the night? Allowing you to roll around inside while the bivy stays right side up (WTPF side down).
If it's windy/exposed, just place something heavy on it as stated above.

The few seconds it takes to put in 4 Sheperd's Hook stakes (total weight .8oz) is worth it to me. Staking out the corners of my MLD Soul Sidezip bivy has made it much easier to use under the tarp. With the pad bungeed into place either under or in the bivy everything stays where it's supposed to be.
