What's the state of the market regarding synthetic winter sleeping bags? Obviously lightweight is a major factor. Good suggestions that aren't ridiculous?
I have tried the quilt thing (I made a 10 degree RayWay one) – it simply doesn't work for me in cold weather. I also figure nows the time to catch them on sale.
I'm a painfully cold sleeper, so a 30 degree bag + clothes will probably be required at a minimum. It's probably the one piece of gear that will keep me out of SUL since my metabolism just doesn't keep up once I try to sleep regardless of all the typical tricks.
I normally use down exclusively but am needing a synthetic for the BPL trekking school outing this Oct.
