Hi everyone. Can anyone validate the weights of the Triumph and Diad? I have seen websites where the Diad is 6.1 and others that are 8.0. Does anyone know which is accurate? Most say that the Triumph is 5.4. Is this correct?

Thanks for your help!

P.S. I typically wear a medium in a hardshell.

I have the DIAD (size L) and it weighs 7.8 oz. I believe mine is the original model (an '06?). Newer DIADs may be slightly different.

If Brett is around he may know. He's a DIAD aficionado and has several of them I believe.

I have no experience with the Triumph Anorak though.

My TNF Diad is an XL with a total weight of 180 grams which should be about 6.34931315 ounces. I think it is an 07 model.

I just got back from a local outfitter and was there to see if the Triumph was really that great.

What I found is that it really is 5.4oz. So, the first thing I wondered is, "what was cut out?"

1) Hood cord locks are made of foam.
2) Cuffs are elastic.
3) Because of the "only two fabric panels", fit is sort of awkward to me.
4) Nylon is paper thin, only 10 Denier.

The minimal weight and features naturally call to me as an ultralight backpacker, but I wonder about it's durability. I see it wearing out quickly under pack straps or if you spend any time off trail.

On a related note, I also ran across the new Westcomb Specter LT jacket. At around 9.5 oz, it may be the one for me.
