I've read through just about every thread on each of these quilts, but looking for a little input before I pull the trigger on one.

I am 6'3" so need the long version, each weighs in at 21oz with 10.5oz fill weight and the price is essentially the same. It seems the JRB Hudson River may be more versatile by having a lay-flat real quilt design, but the Golite may save some hassle with the enclosed footbox.

Use would be varied, but would like for it to be usable on the CDT which I believe both could handle?

Any input on advantages of one or the other and comparisons would be appreciated.

Hudson Pros:
hammock underquilt
open to lay flat
pleasing green color
can be worn around shoulders in cool evenings
made in USA

Ultra 20 Pros:
pull it out, ready to use
no-fuss footbox
pleasing blue color

Both are nice. Both are different. The always-closed footbox seems to me to be too close of a relative to the mummy bag- in which this design (wanted to at least) tried to depart. I prefer the H.R. to the Ultra. YMMV.
if it bothers you that the Ultra is made in China, buy the H.R. (plus, its on sale!)

Pretty good rundown so far.
The other thing to consider is that the Ultra has a tapered cut that gets wider at the chest and then narrows towards the shoulders. Also it has the WB patches at the foot and head.
