Loft on the Women’s Alpine Light jacket…

I noticed the same thing when I was checking these out at Down Works in Santa Cruz. The loft seemed to be about half that of the men's. I think the attractive diamond baffling of the women's version definitely restricts the loft. I just got my alpine light parka and am stoked on it but now I need to find something with similar loft for my girlfriend. Any women out there got some ideas for a hooded down jacket for women? I'm looking for a hooded option in the 16 oz range for her to use as part of a sleep system. Other options are much more expensive and not stocked anywhere. I'm not looking forward to running the sizing gauntlet. She is about 5'4" 120 pounds.

Get the MB Alpine Jacket maybe? I talked to Kyle at Prolite and he said the Alpine in women's is a whole lot puffier than the Alpine Light.

Hey Ryan. The Alpine Jacket is definitely lofty and would be very warm. It doesn't have a hood thought and I'm not sure my girlfriend will go for the seperate balaclava idea. I'll keep looking. I guess I may have to fork out the dough for a WM, FF, or Nunatuk.
