Funny that you mention the date. This year Daylight Saving (summer time) will end this Sunday, one week later than usual. This caused some problems because phone alarms and talking cloaks and so on got it wrong, causing many people,( particularly in NSW,they are slow up there) to arrive to work one hour late.
To overcome this, the Government is debating the merit of cashing-in the savings made over the years and to jump one week ahead of the rest of the world at the end of our financial year. (June)

OK, fair enough.
Henry has been fighting a Parcheesi addiction for sometime now. Many would have noticed that the Tarptent site has not been updated since 2006 and no new products have been released since then.
I think that we should be grateful for what Henry has done for us so far, particularly having inspired many others to come up with similar, although more expensive, products.
With proper care and determination I am sure that someone will be able to help him overcome his habit and you never know, one day we may even see a new Tarptent.
For one, I am thankful for the Tarptents I have.

I hope the rumors of Henry selling out to The North Face are entirely false. Perhaps by APRIL SECOND the news will change.

I lost an uncle to Parcheesi, so I know what Henry must be going through. We tried to get him help but he refused and finally left to join the pro circuit. We haven't heard from him since.

I'll keep Henry in my thoughts as he fights his addiction.

I moved here 8 years ago…to downtown Brooklyn. There were frequently police helicopters in the area at night, searchlights blazing. Crackpipes, shootings….it was enough to make me want to walk in the woods.

Nowadays, I live nearer to Prospect Park. I was there last weekend setting up and trying out a new tent when the cops came and told me I had to take it down and leave. No tents in Brooklyn, man!

It's no earthly paradise, that's for sure. But I do like it here.

I hate everyone with a parcheesi habit. Those people all make me sick. I see them walking down the streets, with their hands in their pockets, stroking their little colorful safari animals. I wish they would all stop polluting America with their disgusting little game.

PS. I'm moving to Brooklyn next year to go to school (and hopefully backpack somewhere close)

Darren, it is to have a break from those ferocious UV rays. A few days ago it rained here for a few hours. Most Melbournian under 20 were seen running in the streets screaming "the sky is falling, the sky is falling" . You try to explain rain to a generation that has not seen it before.

Max – there's good hiking in the Brooklyn vicinity. You can reach Harriman State Park via public transportation. Also, the Catskills and Adirondacks are accessible for weekend trips.

I'm getting my brother hooked on backpacking because he has a car and it'll make it easier for me to get out to the Catskills and 'Dacks.

Let me know when you move. I'm always interested in meeting new people to hike with. Or, you know, play Parchesi with.

A whole generation of Victorians that cant understand what the NSW people are making fun of them about. Pre June last year we were the same but now it rains every week.
