I'm looking for something I can take on 3-7 day hiking trips over the next year to get my temperature-vs-insulation needs dialed in. When I'm too cold (or hot) at night and it wakes me up, I can just look at a zipper thermometer. But when I don't wake up, I don't know what temperature I was "fine" at… Also, I'll be doing this for the whole family, so having something with a memory would be best in case they wake up cold, but I don't.
Anyone know of a inexpensive and reasonably light thermometer with a min/max memory feature ?
I found some coil-type thermometers that moved a thin wire as they went up or down. Unfortunately they were huge (10-12" diameter). I also found several digital thermometers – but the prices started at $100 and went up from there…
Thanks.
