My new 295s showed up last week from prolitegear.com.
Yep they're light – the saving is probably in the upper: it's the same soft mesh as on the 315, but without the harder covering layer. So they'd probably be a bit cooler as well as lighter. Doesn't strike me as particularly tough – seems flimsier than the Flyroc upper, which didn't last that long for me.
When I ordered I was hoping the fit would be identical to the Terroc/Flyroc, which fit me perfectly, but it's not exactly: they're narrower in the forefoot, but strangely with a wider + higher toe box. Wider than the 315 though, but still too narrow for my wide-ish feet sadly, so I'll be going back the Terroc and sticking these up for sale.
Still in the hunt for a more durable shoe than the Terroc: although they fit spot on, they drain well & they're light, I can't afford to keep replacing them! My ideal shoe would be the fit & flat sole of the Terroc/Flyroc, Roclite tread + facisa bands combined with a super tough upper.
Maybe I'll look at the New Balance trail runners..
