Ok, this is sort-of what I've been waiting for in a Fenix headlamp: Q5 bin, Cree LED, AA battery, regulated, 2 oz., yada, yada, yada. BUT it uses a twisty switch. Dunno if I like that, sounds like it requires two hands to turn on–at least when on my head. And I'm not sure about gloves…
The Fenix L1D, which also uses a AA battery, has a nice clicky switch that you could operate with one hand, although that requires a bit of a push to activate.
Glad to see a meager (2.6 lumen) Low setting as the Low setting on the L0D (7.5 lumens) is a bit bright for up-close work. Looking at the Medium (13 lumens) and High (66 Lumens) settings, it looks like Fenix strayed from the typical "bright and brighter" Low and Medium, offering instead two (more useful) low settings while keeping a bright High setting.
I like it, but I'm just no too keen on that twisty switch.
