I got the 1/4" closed cell foam from Ed Speer that I ordered yesterday.

The site calls it "Crosslinked Polyethylene closed cell foam", whereas GG Thinlight is "Closed cell cross-linked ethylene copolymer foam" (per Zotefoams website).

Anyway – I haven't had the time to really "test" it yet, but it seems more like "memory foam" when compared to the GG Thinlight foam. When you push it in it has a different density-type feeling to it that I think might prove to be a lot more comfortable than Thinlight. Ed Speer's site says the density is 2lb/cu foot; I couldn't find the density of Evazote foam. Ed's foam says R-Value of 1, GG says 0.9.

Has anyone used this foam? Have you found it to be more comfortable? Warmer? Less comfortable? I know the Nightlight pads are notorious for losing their loft quilckly… maybe this is better?

Hammock packers are more likely to have used the Speers products. You might also post on a hammock forum like at whiteblaze.net.
