My blog entry today on my site is on the "instant" quinoa flakes I came across in the natural foods store.
They don't call them instant, but they are. All they need is boiling water, a good stirring for a minute and a 5 minute sit in a cozy.
They haven't added anything so you can make them sweet or savory. My feeling is you could use them in oatmeal or instant grit/polenta recipes perfectly. The serving size is 1/3 cup dry Quinoa. It makes a LOT.

Just add some salt and spices and it is perfect instant trail dinner.
Add some cinnamon and sugar and it is porridge!voila!
awesome protein and, well, it is not noodles.Mar 19, 2008 at 5:01 pm #1424944I am thinking they would make a great savory porridge with vegetables, cheese maybe some bacon? Yum!
