Advantages of SteriPen Adventurer over Classic?

i have completely immersed my adventurer with no ill effects. it was dropped without the protective case onto rocks, in a stream and promptly swept down stream hitting everything on the way. after i recovered it, i dried it off and continued to purify my drinking water. (looking around to make sure nobody saw me drop it :)

i don't know if the bulbs are the same size or not but they use different measurements. the classic works on 16oz or 32oz portions and the adventure does .5 and 1 liter increments so the adventure does slightly larger quantities each time.

i don't use my adventure in my watter bottles. i don't use nalgene bottles, just cheap plastic ones. so i use it in my cook pot. works great and i wont go back to cems or pumps, i also like that its a little more durable than the classic

no regrets

I've used both on 9+ day long hikes and the classic failed after 4 days, the adventurer worked fine for the entire hike, 15 days. The classic failed because condensation or moisture got inside the glass chamber. I communicated with Steripen and they said (true for then) that the adventurer was engineered to be much more waterproof than the classic. The Steripen Adventurer is lighter and smaller too. I only recommend the Adventurer. I plan on using the Adventurer this summer on the JMT too.

My understanding that all the Steripen (HydroPhoton) and the mUV units use the same Philips UV tube.
