I was wondering if people think the regular Caldera Cone Stove system would be able to deal with wood. I just can't see spending $80 for the Ti version when all I need is the cone itself. I could always stick me stakes through the venting holes. Thanks.

I tested my regular Caldera Cone with wood, and it seemed to work fine. I boiled a quart of water, and nothing happened to my cone.
I ended up ordering the new Ti version anyway
I have used the aluminum windscreen+pot supports from my Thermojet Microlite as a woodburner without mishap, but it doesn't channel the heat into the metal as intensely as a Caldera Cone does. I would trust the Caldera Cone guys on this. They probably wouldn't make a special Tri-Ti cone if they thought a regular cone could handle the heat.

Yeah, ONE burn is probably okay… it's going to fail after a few times though (like Allison mentioned)
