Wanting suggestions on light, durable rain gear. I'm having a hard time deciding if cheaper gear which will be replaced more often or getting quality. My pack, crawling on knees frequently, briar patches all play a factors for durablity. The gear needs to be reliable. Thank you.

For SAR, I'd go with durability – especially fabric tough enough on the forearms and mid-thigh down so that it doesn't rip going through briar patches or tangles of downed trees knee. Even then, I'd look for additional knee, shin, elbow and forearm patches.

Cheaper / thinner gear is probably going to get several rips within 20-30 minutes of serious bushwacking through stuff it would be smarter to go around (but you can't without compromising your grid-search).

Any of the main-line (heavy) expedition / mountaineering sets of raingear are probably much better for SAR than even expensive sets made from ultralight materials.

Integral designs makes gear for rangers/police/search and rescue personnel.

That's where I would start.

The integral designs stuff maybe would be impractical. Our winters in Arkansas are rarely cold enough where'd a parka would be needed. But thank you for the suggestion though. I guess a good technical shell and pants would work.
