I know that the Spinners get good press around here and I've been looking for a pair myself. I emailed Cloudveil and got this response:

>>Thanks for your email. We will be bringing back the Spinner Convertible pant with our Spring '08 Angling Apparel line. We are launching our new Spring line Sat. March 1st online. Thanks for your interest!

Looking forward to it…

I have been using a pair of cloudveil spinners for the 1-2 years. I do like them a lot, but I would warn you that their durability is not as good as the more traditional supplex hiking pants. They don't exactly "pill", but there is a similar sort of wear pattern.

Normally I use my pants for around town and the back country. I have stopped doing that with the spinners because I expect I am going to get a lot less life out of them, and given the limited like, I want to make sure I am using them up when they actually make a difference.

Do you have a brand that you favor over others?
