Precip Plus?

If you're not stuck on having a Marmot or other big name jacket I recommend you look at Cabela's Rainy River Gore-Tex PacLite parka. It's $79. for reglar sizes and $89. for tall sizes. Most big name UL backpacking waterproof "breathable" parkas do not come in a tall size.

Finally, other than eVent, no other "breathable" waterproof rainwear is as light, as breathable AND as waterproof as Gore-Tex PacLite. The Rainy River PacLite parka has a lot of nice features and I like its high quality. Same goes for the pants. That suit is my rain and wind suit.

I think Precip Plus is a membrane used in some of Marmot's rainwear. I seem to remember buying their Precip Jacket with tags saying something to the effect of "using our Precip Plus technology!". I seem to remember they started with a membrane called "Precip" only.

I have heard that Montbell Dry-Tec is really great. Not as breathable as eVent, but approaching.

Does anyone know whether Montbell DryTec or Gore-Tex PacLite is more breathable?

I'm not in the market for a new jacket. I was just curious about this jacket, it's encouraging to see big name companies trying to go lighter!
