Cocoon Pullover vs. Thermawrap

Just got the parka and I really like it. It is very light and layers well over a fleece. I have worn it with a tee shirt down to 25 degrees with no problems.

I recently purchsed a cocoon ul60 pullover at the BPL sale and am very satisfied with it. The cocoon has 68g/sq meter Polarguard Delta insulation while the thermawrap (jacket) has 50g/sq meter exceloft proprietary insulation. Based on these values the cocoon should be warmer. I have not used the thermawrap, but in the store I would say it did not look as lofty as the cocoon. In addition the cocoon does not have any sewn through stitches on the outer shell, making it more windproof. That's my opinion, hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, it definitely helps. Did you get the pullover in cobalt blue? If so how would you describe the color?

I have no experience with the Cocoon stuff, but I have had the thermawrap parka for over a year now and it rocks. It has 80 g/sqm exceloft. My size L weighs 14 oz. I wear it everywhere all the time and I don't worry about it being fragile because it is stabilized everywhere. I can stick my arm out the car window and feel no wind which is a cool feeling, especially when my arm stays warm and its cold outside. I got the cobalt blue and its very bright. It will go great with the bright green insulated pants I just made today!

I chose the thermawrap because of the value/ weight/ warmth ratio. The cocoon is probably top notch too. Good luck with that decision :)

The cobalt blue seems to be the same color as the cocoon pro 60 side zip pants as shown on this website.
