    Locale: AZ, the Great Southwest!

I have a 2 year old Marmot Pounder we don't use much, but I do have a need for a synthetic lightweight vest.

I was thinking of selling the Pounder and buying a lightweight vest, but….

After reading a couple of threads in MYOG, why can't I cut the Pounder in ~half, add a couple of slits for arm holes, then viola~, cheap and easy

    What's wrong with this approach?

go for it! You will need a bit more length in the back than front. My vest is 32" on the back and 26" on the front meeting at the neckhole. You may be able to get 2 vests out of the pounder if you're lucky.
