So I finally got a chance to test out a couple of new items this weekend on a mini-trip. The mileage was extremely low and the weather perfect, so obviously some testing still needs to be done in more inclement conditions and with longer days, heavier loads.
I got the chance to use my new MLD Zip pack as well as the MLD Silnylon Pro Poncho and a homemade bivy based on the SMD Meteor Bivy design.
Everything worked great. The quality of the MLD products is great. I didn't get to try out the poncho since it didn't rain, but I am quite sure I will be pleased. The pack features are great, especially the mesh pockets that are capable of storing tons of things right at hand.
Here was my basic gearlist for the trip and my setup.
Shelter/Rain – MLD Silnylon Poncho Tarp
– Meteor Bivy
Pack – MLD Zip
Bag – Kelty Lightyear 3D 45* accompanied with a Montbell UL Down Inner Jacket and inflatable pillow
Pad – Prolite 3 Regular + GG Thinlight 1/8
Heine Pot alcohol stove kit
Temperatures got down to about 35-40 degrees and I was comfortable but probably could not go lower without more insulation.

Feel free to comment on the setup, give any suggestions, or ask any questions.
