New Nunatak stuff

Similar to RAB quantum top bag which costs $200.

My buddy pointed out to me that instead of "price" it says "prize"…man, nothing like a good prize.

I also thought it was funny that they spelled Glen's name Van Pesky instead of Van Peski on the catabatic page. Overall though it seems like a nice webpage but their stuff (unfortunately) is still too expensive for me.

Well, you can compare the Catabatic to the Rab topbag but you cannot get a Rab Top Bag in an XL, nor can you specify the shell fabric or add extra down fill, etc. As for me, the Nunatak products are well worth the price.

Also, if the Rab bag has the same dimensions as the original, it is wholly inadequate for almost anything. The top-bottom ratio for insulation-noninsulation is barely over 50-50 on the old model which I was given, for free, by a fellow I met on the trail. He said he had no use for it anymore because of this. The drafts are bad enough that I can't use it in bed with the fan on. Nunatak would have much better designs than that.

The nunatak insulation wraps around more, but I've used the RAB quantum top bag down to freezing just fine (wearing clothing and inside bivy).

It's a 15 oz. piece of ultralight history. Add a head hole and two arm holes and you have a vest. You don't have to carry a second piece of insultation, similar to the JRB universal quilts and Adventure Alan sub 5 skin-out methods.
