Going to Alaska in July and have to buy a set of rain gear. The company I'm booking a kayak camping trip with recommends non breathable rainwear because of breathables susceptibility to leaking after sustained rains. I was going to purchase the id event thru-hiker jacket and probably go-lite reed pants knowing I'd use it on backpacking trips as well but now am not sure what brand to get or both if need be. Can you recommend a set of rain gear to purchase or do you think the id event thru hiker jacket will hold up to the challenge? Hopefully I won't see any rain but I definitely want to be prepared if I do and not get wet in a cold environment like Alaska. Thanks for you help.
