Grip studs for shoes

I got a pair of Sportiva boots today and took a look at their web site. I came on this tool and studs they offer for installing studs in the soles of their boots. I don't think they would work for trail runners, but they would sure do the trick for boots with larger lugs. At the very least, it is an interesting idea.

Definitely nicer that rolling your own solution out of self tapping machine screws. However, self tapping machine screw would be cheaper.

I'd do the 1/4" hex screws with nut driver…probably lighter.
