I keep looking at the Monk Spectralite tarp and thinking… man I would love to try that! I rarely see rain when I backpack due to my locale and I would love to squeeze by on a 3.3oz tarp. I probably wouldn't even set it up most of the time.
HOWEVER… it seems pointless to even bring if it isn't enough coverage to keep a rain storm at bay. If it can't, it's 3.3oz of dead weight. I do have the MLD Superlight bivy and would have it along.
Anyone been in a rainstorm with this? Or even ever used it?
