I found some info about why BPL used Polarguard Delta instead of Primaloft Sport in the Cacoon jackets – but I found other info (on Thru-Hiker & Ray Jardine's site) showing how Climashield XP was better for quilts (due to Clo) and scrimmed Primaloft 1 was best for clothing (due to drape).
Does BPL just use PG Delta because Climashield XP was developed after the Cacoon line ?
Does anyone have any insights into which synthetic is best for quilts ? How about for puffy jackets ? "Best" in both cases (in my mind at least) would be defined as warmth for a given packed volume as long as the weights of the two alternatives were pretty close – unless the durability of one of the insulations is much worse than the others after being tightly stuffed…
Thanks.
