Johnathan, since you own them, can I ask you a question?
What sort of insulation do they use? I read the product page for these probably three times and all I got out of it is that the insulation is some sort of fleece and that it's "enough to keep you warm and that's all you need to know!" or some such nebulous statement. Is it a sort of really thick fleece or something? I have a hard time imagining that 4 ounces of fleece would be good enough for winter mitts, given VB technology or not…but I've been wrong in the past.
For thin, windproof gloves, check out the OR Airfoil gloves. I've had my eye on these for a while, but have yet to find one in a store, unfortunately, so I can't say just how thin they are. Looking at the pics on Backpackgeartest.org, and they do look about as thin as my OR power stretch liner gloves, though.
