So I've had my R1 for awhile and it's been great.

I'm just wondering how the hood fits everyone. I imagined that it would be able to cover my mouth, but in reality it only covers my chin.

Is this how it fits you all? It seems like I should have expected this much..

I have and really like my R1 hoody as well. I am 5'9, with a 19" torso and have the medium. The hoody fits very well and the hood does cover my mouth and comes up to right under my nose. It will stay there as long as I am not too active or turning my head a lot. When I am moving around a lot, running, riding my bike, etc, the hood will work itself a little lower and usually settle on my mouth or a little below.

My experience is the same as Jay's: I'm 5'11", 19-20" torso, 155lbs, wear the medium. Easily covers my mouth, not so much my nose. But this plus an OR Ninjaclava = toasty nights!

Hmm…yeah, mine will cover my mouth too, but when I have a pack on and I move my head much at all it seems to pulls itself down to being on my bottom lip/chin. It may be the weight of the pack pulling on the shoulders combined with my head movement. Still a nice piece, though my stitching has been giving me problems. I returned my last one and may return this one..

I'm 5'8" with a 19" or 20" torso and I also have a medium.

I'm 5'11" 150 lbs. I usually wear a medium and my medium R1 hoodie fits me perfectly-which is to say that it is snug yet allows a full range of unimpeded movement. My hood zips up to cover my mouth and settle below my nose. I should also say that I have a rather average chin, a slight overbite and a slightly triangular, medium-sized roman nose. If you have a chin like Jay Leno, I would expect the hood to provide a little less mouthal coverage.

ha..I think my chin is normal sized! My hood also zips to below my nose, just tends to ride down very quickly. While sleeping this may not happen as I have not tested it over night. It just happens while walking..
