Hello,
I am looking at getting a new pack for my outdoor endeavors. I currently have a Golite Jam2 that after one season of use has some good thrashes on it. This is by no means due to the quality of the pack and/or materials, but I am 6'4" 197 lbs and I guess I am just hard on my equipment. My dream pack would be a Jam2 made out of Dyneema so it could be thrashed about without much concern all while lasting me 5+ years. Speaking with Graham (A+ for quality customer Service) at CiloGear yesterday he gave me some great ideas about moding one of his new Dyneema creations to meet my needs. I winter hike in some crazy alpine environments but I would never consider myself a mountaineer or alpinist. Besides all of the mountaineering/climbing specific features Graham's packs have, would a completely striped down version make a good UL pack? My base load is anywhere from 8-10lbs depending on the trip. For any CiloGear users out there, will this be "too much pack" so to speak when for most of my trips I never top 20 lbs total weight? Thanks for the feedback.

I too have looked into CiloGear's offerings many times – I even had my hands on a used one that was unfortunately too small and they are a fine example of the term "bomber".
In terms of UL however, they have a number of generally unecessary features like crampon storage. Although, as you mention the packs are designed for portability and are therefore customizable so one could "strip it down" to make a lightweight, rugged pack capable of the harshest bushwhacking.
