I have a reasonabally long torso;21.5" and my problem is the location of the gear in my bp. I have used exterior frame packs much of my life and now that I've switched to the frameless type, a problem occurs with the gear tending to bulge outward even using compression straps. If I could find a bp that is long and narrow with more of the gear going lenthwise, I believe this would balance the load better. Most of the bp I reviewed just don't put the load up to my head or higher. Can anyone suggest a bp that is more longtitudinal like an exterior frame one?

Try the Pinacle pack by GoLite. I love it. I have the same issue and I bought the Large. It is light at 1 lb. 9 oz. It allows you to compact your load better than any other pack I have tried. See the reveiws on it. I have one in here somewhere.

To get the gear running length wise I have used thermarest stuff sacks that are nice and long. It worked pretty good for me. Though I would probably choose to make my own in the future.

Thanks

I'm 6'6" and have a 24" torso… I just returned from a 3-day hike with the Golite Ion. Highly Recommended.
