Anyone tried or seen the MLD XP Quilt?

I am thinking of getting one for summer use and was wondering whther it would be as warm as a Nunatak Arc Specialist with 2” loft and about 10 ounces of down.

The Nunatak Arc Specialist cut looks a little more genorous which helps too.

The Climashield sound intriguing. The MLD website states:

ClimaShield XP thickness and warmth does not correlate to a down bag. It is much warmer for the same thickness.

Sounds fascinating but a review would help.

The first MLD XP Quilts were ordered about four weeks ago and have just started shipping this week; so no one will have any user info for you yet.

The 5oz/sq/yd weight (about 170gms/sq/m) Climashield XP should be fairly close to the same warmth as 2" of high quality down used at an optimum thermal density.

Perhaps other brand synthetic quilt users can share thier ratings- Keeping in in that Climashield XP is warmer for the weight than any other synthetic insulation right now and requires no sewn through areas or quilting for insulation stability in a quilt design – so it is a clear notch warmer for that reason too.

Note that even Patagonia is going to use Climashield…
