Saw these at Dick's sporting goods yesterday. $14 for pants and jacket…… are they worth a crap? They claim to be WpB. Any exp on them?

There is about two years of talk to review by searching the forum. Some like them, some don't.

I like them. I use them instead of wind or rain clothing. Just can't go bushwacking or mountaineering.

Yes, they are well worth it:

1. very light weight
2. windproof / waterproof yet very, very breathable!
3. cheap as heck

The fabric is non-woven — and yes, it can be pierced by very sharp objects and ripped. OTOH, I've worn mine on normal hikes (i.e. no bushwhacking as mentioned by Brett above) for almost 4 years now — and it's still as good as new!

Love em. Mine are 2 years old. The pants suck though- but they are great to use as patch material. If you get a hole in the jacket just cut a piece from the pants and glue it on. The jacket will look like new again!

I'll third and fourth the previous good reports on DriDucks. Mine have a couple of thousand trail miles on them and not a tear. The only problem was how funky they got. Mirazyme and vinegar took care of that. Washing in detergent can be a problem unless you rinse the heck out of them. Detergent residue makes them leak.

Yes, you really have to air them out after sweat usage. The new green color is better and they do seem to fit a bit smaller now than they used to and are using a different material. It is actually a rain jacket that you can wear into the warm temperatures. The pants are not the best and tend to pull down if you are climbing uphill but you can make some suspenders out of shock cord and use the seam sealer you patch it with to put them on. Best $15 I ever spent and much better than a heavy and expensive eVent suit.
