So i was looking around and saw this site where they sell different forms of aerogel: http://www.buyaerogel.com/ One of the projects that i eventually want to work on, is a mini UL wood stove using titanium foil as the inner metal, some insulation in the middle, and then aluminum (flashing?) on the outside. Insulation would be for two reasons, can get a hotter, more efficient, cleaner fire potentially and to protect the aluminum since it can potentially melt from even small contained wood fires. (titanium is dang expensive, otherwise i would probably just use all thicker titanium) Except for the somewhat pricey nature, think i found the almost perfect insulation material below: http://www.buyaerogel.com/product/pyrogel-xt-e-blanket-cut-to-size-5-mm-thickness/ If you buy at least 10 feet of the 58 inch wide material it's more cost efficient. If others were interested in getting some, it might be cost effective overall. From what i understand it will produce some dust, so it's best to have it contained somehow. If people were interested in 2 foot lengths of it, it would cost each of the 5 people about 47 dollars. Course, if someone wanted to have more and was willing to pay by 1 foot increments, that would be fine too. I'm waiting on an email about how much it weighs per square yard. If it's over 6 oz/yd2 then i probably won't be interested.
