I was lucky to have the opportunity to join some friends for a quick hike up Mt. Whitney recently. The long car ride over there from the bay area was maybe the hardest part. We spent a night camped at the Portal, then got up the next morning at 2:30 for a 3:00 AM start.
Around 13,000 ft I started feeling spaced out due to the altitude. I wondered if I accidentally ate a pot brownie earlier that morning instead of a Cliff Bar.
We had good weather and were able to hang out at the top for a little while. I try to never say no to trips like these but of course with a family and other responsibilities sometimes it’s just not possible to run out the door with a backpack. I’m glad I got to do this one. great job Jacob. I start feeling like pot brownies around 11,000 … so you lasted better than me at least.
Hi Art. As long as we both know what pot brownies feel like, then it doesn't really matter what the elevation is.
Awesome!
man that's a ruff looking crew… :) billy
