I move all over when I sleep. Can't sleep on my back for nothin. So I have a BA 25" pad. Now I need a sleeping bag. I really like the idea of the sleep system. Everything I found was old info. Any of you guys using this stuff these days. Or is it just too heavy. I wouldn't mind the extra weight for the comfort if it's with in reason. If I did the math right the system I want would weigh 4.125 pounds. Is that acceptable for a bag and pad?? That's for a 15* down bag. So if any of you guys are using this system, how do you like it. Thanks

I have a Big Agnes Summit Park 15 degree bag that I liked pretty well until I discover quilts. The nice thing about the bag is that it pretty much stays in place regardless of how much I move around. It's quite comfortable and it is nice that it's roomy, but the downside is that all that roominess leaves deadspace that must be heated. A wide roomy bag will not keep one as warm as a well-fitting mummy bag. In other words, I don't think it's really a 15 degree bag, so the warmth to weight ratio is low. I really don't use it anymore because I moved to Zpacks and EE quilts, so I'd be willing to sell it if you're interested. It looks like they still retail for $300-$350, so I'd let it go for $180 shipped (CONUS), or make me an offer. I'd also be willing to trade for hammock gear, cuben tarps or lightweight canoe paddles.

"Acceptable" is very subjective. Acceptable to me is under two pounds for both. Ba pads are too heavy compared to exped and thermarest. a good 15d full bag, you should be around two pounds.
