3.7 vs. 4.2 vs. 4.5 vs. 6.2oz, respectivity. Big differences I can see. Ruta locura uses a sil nylon bottom. The rest use cuben. Borah gear is less enclosed around the head. I've heard the borah gear bathtub is sewn to the top, while the mld is one piece. Can anyone verify that? Only reason I'd consider the zpacks bivy is it is 1.0oz cuben, so I could avoid using a polycro ground sheet and save 1.5oz. Any other advantage to the zpacks?

I don't have any experience with those bivys, but I would suggest a center zip for what-ever bivy you get. Easier entry and your bag is less likely to contact the ground. Steve
Has anyone ever tested the HH of the 7D sil fabric that Ruta Locura use? I'm guessing that it will be relatively low compared to most heavier silnylons, and that the aged HH will be poor. This makes it not a great choice for a bivy bottom. I have a Borah bug bivy, XL, cuben bottom, its very good, well made. I think the design of the Zpacks is great if you need a DWR bivy for classic tarp/poncho usage. The small panel of mesh over the head makes so much sense, as does the careful application of WPB material at each end.
