Does anyone have some input/thoughts on the durability of the pocket mesh on the Windrider? I am looking at the 2400 Windrider vs the Southwest. I won't be bushwhacking/off trial and the weight difference is minimal, but I am just hesitant looking at that mesh to pull the trigger I looked for a thread on this but found nothing … apologies if this is redundant.

M, I've had mine since april and used it on the pct in Wa. this summer for a month. No problems other than some staining on the CF.I had the same worries but was able to use the mesh to dry clothes as i walked. Hope that helps some. TomL

I've had my Windrider in some thorny situations, and general bushwhacking, and it has given me no problems at all.

Here I was thinking I was settled on the Southwest and you both have me rethinking! I prefer the open mesh but was concerned about durability. Thanks for the input!

I've used a Windrider, a Zpacks Arc Blast, and an MLD Exodus and found the Windrider's mesh to be far superior in durability. I also like that it's sewn with a little extra material, so it's a bit 'puffy' as opposed to flat against the pack. This makes it much easier to access items in the mesh pocket when the pack interior is stuffed full.

I have had no problems with my mesh but I called them up and had them make me a modified Southwest with solid side pockets and a mesh back pocket, IMO, the best of both worlds. They had not problem doing this for me and it shipped within three days of my order.

Gerry … I had been toying with that idea, but dismissed it because I didn't want to wait too long. 3 days is excellent! That might be my solution right there!
