A trip to the ADK's gave us a chance to test out the newly purchased jackets I mentioned in a prior thread. Fall has arrived north of us and temps from just above freezing at 34F to 49F were perfect for testing the new layers. First the fit of both the men's and woman's cut were great for both of us. Also FWIW the fabrics were nice against the skin. The side zip pockets and waist cinch were handy and well worth the extra grams for us. We used the jackets mostly over LS nylon shirts. I was really surprised at how warm they were and pretty wind resistant as well. We did throw on our rain jackets when the winds at the lower temps started cutting through. Jackets were also comfy to sleep in. Nice thermal boost inside a bag or quilt. After breaking camp temps were still low enough to start moving with the jackets on and I was pleased to find them breathable enough not to worry about working up a sweat although YMMV on that one. Over all we were very pleased on how warm for the weight they were. Perfect for replacing a few fleece layers that we have, being lighter, warmer, and more wind resistant. Although time will tell on durability, so far a great layer to have at hand in the gear closet.
