to all of those experienced with using these mitts I have a quick question. I recently bought a pair and I feel fully confident that they will keep me warm in all of the coldest temps that I will find myself in as long as I am moving. What about sitting around in camp in the snow on a below freezing night? For trips where I may be doing this is it wise to bring along my big insulated synthetic mitts?

Jonathan,
I think that you should be just fine with the mitts. I use the possumdown liners if I really think it is going to be very cold (i.e. single digits).
Best,
S.

Yea, that is what I was thinking to. I plan to use a pair of Ibex wool liners so I guess I will just test it out and see what happens. If all else fails I have nice puffy pockets on my insulated jkt

Handwarmers are a nice backup if you are experimenting with new gear.
