What tricky ideas do you have for improvising some form of pillow?
I usually wear some fleece so work with that.
Maybe you have a specific way of forming the pillow or some other trick to share.

The sleeping bag stuff sack can be stuffed with clothing, including fleece clothing, and used as a pillow. You might carry some rubber bands to try to form it into a shape. that doesn't flatten too much.
Wrap my clothes bag in fleece jacket. Punch it into shape. Z out.
You could get a flex air pillow. I think I am going to get a 3 pack soon. They're less than an ounce and are really nice to have. I can sleep on a platy with my fleece rolled around it, but what if I want to wear my fleece or put water in my platy? I think its worth the weight for a nice sleep. Plus I sleep on my side . . .
I've used my shoes, my insulating jacket, my rain jacket, my food bag, etc. The most comfortable (relatively comfortable at least) is stuffing all my extra clothes into an extra stuff sack. The problem is I don't use many stuff sacks and don't normally have an extra and now that I have more of a sleep system than just my sleeping bag I don't have much extra clothing besides stinky socks.
I might look at picking up some of the FlexAir pillows after my funds have recovered after Christmas. A pillow of some kind is almost a must for a side sleeper like me.

I like using my 2 liter platy with maybe a piece of extra clothing wrapped around it, although if your already wearing some kind of headgear you don't even need that for comfort. Doesn't matter if you have some water in it – in fact it will keep your water from freezing if its really that cold. Nothing more to buy, nothing extra to carry.
