Has anyone ever made one of these? I've been looking for a comfortable pillow to start taking with me and thought I'd give a swiss pillow a try. Here's what I came up with.

I was going for maximum comfort so it's about 14"x9"x6". I made a real simple wrap for it with a stow pocket. Here are the pictures:

The total weight ended up being about 9oz. Pretty heavy for a pillow, but it's super comfortable.

Unfortunately, I had to glue two pieces of foam together to get the final product, so I think I could drop a couple ounces if I could find foam thick enough to begin with.

You are not alone. We have used these for years, and they are very good.

I too saw this video, but I don't see how these could give enough support to be worth taking. Seems a stuff sack full of clothes would be just as good. Am I missing something?

I don't think you're missing anything. It doesn't support amazingly well, but it is very comfortable. But, if you've got enough clothing to stuff, you might as well do that.

With 2 or 3 directions of coring, I think it would be too soft myself.
With just 1 direction (vertical) in standard PU foam it works fine.

Sorry to go off-topic but has anyone noticed that the Swiss like holes??? Swiss cheese and Swiss pillow seem to have something in common!

    OK…continue. I had to laugh.
