Has anyone ever made one of these? I've been looking for a comfortable pillow to start taking with me and thought I'd give a swiss pillow a try. Here's what I came up with.
I was going for maximum comfort so it's about 14"x9"x6". I made a real simple wrap for it with a stow pocket. Here are the pictures:
The total weight ended up being about 9oz. Pretty heavy for a pillow, but it's super comfortable.
Unfortunately, I had to glue two pieces of foam together to get the final product, so I think I could drop a couple ounces if I could find foam thick enough to begin with.

Cheers

Dec 6, 2007 at 8:35 pm #1411590I too saw this video, but I don't see how these could give enough support to be worth taking. Seems a stuff sack full of clothes would be just as good. Am I missing something?
Dec 6, 2007 at 9:39 pm #1411600I don't think you're missing anything. It doesn't support amazingly well, but it is very comfortable. But, if you've got enough clothing to stuff, you might as well do that.

With 2 or 3 directions of coring, I think it would be too soft myself.
With just 1 direction (vertical) in standard PU foam it works fine.Dec 7, 2007 at 3:55 am #1411617Sorry to go off-topic but has anyone noticed that the Swiss like holes??? Swiss cheese and Swiss pillow seem to have something in common!
OK…continue. I had to laugh.
