I've got two of the 4 section "quad" exped/montrail poles and have ordered some snow baskets for them from my local climbing shop here in the uk. The regular baskets supplied with the poles have a screw thread like the pole itself, but the snow baskets they have supplied don't: they are just "push fit". Consequently it's possible to pull them off with a little bit of effort.
Does anybody have these poles with snow baskets and, if so, could you tell me if yours have proper screw threads? An backpackinglight article by Jay Ham suggest tantalisingly that they do exist.
