I got up early yesterday and took our dog for a hike in the hills above our house. It was snowing hard and temps were in the upper 20s. I brought along my new End2End Gram Weenie alcohol stove, a mini dropper of HEET, a folding titanium spoon, and some hot chocolate mix, all tucked nicely inside a Firelite 500 pot. An amazingly capable cooking kit in such a compact package. After breaking trail for an hour, I found a sheltered spot with a nice view and fired up the tiny stove.

Within five minutes, the water was boiling and not long after that, I was sipping a tasty cup of hot chocolate with a few large marshmallows thrown in for fun.

Could I have saved the hassle of cooking and brought the hot chocolate in a thermos? Sure. Would it have been nearly as fun. Not hardly!
