I'm going to be up in Maine on a family vacation later this month and have time for dayhikes. I'm looking for info on water conditions and tick pressure. Specifically, should I be planning to pack all my water for the day or will sources still be running, and should I plan on pants and gaiters, or will shorts be okay. We'll be staying in the Rangeley area, but I haven't decided which particular hikes yet.
