Granite Gear Leopard AC 58

I've owned this pack for two years and have carried it about 300 miles. I really find this pack comfortable and the Air Current suspension really moved well with my torso. I had the regular with 58 L so I had more than enough room with a total pack weight of 28 lbs. I carried as much as 36 lbs. for a week with it but felt like I was testing the limits of the pack (or maybe my limits). The hip belt is very comfortable and the shoulder strap adjustments are simple. Construction and durability appear top notch. I removed the lid to save weight and simplify the pack. The criticisms I have are with the side pockets (wish they were more like ULA's) and the roll top is a little fiddly to open and close with four snaps to manage. It is an alpine pack and it has the tool loops which I don't use but doesn't bother me. Not tp make you feel bad but as I recall Massdrop recently had this pack for sale around $150.

The leopard doesn't really have a frame. It has a relatively stiff piece of thin foam to serve as a frame sheet. The hip belt is also about 1/2 as padded and stiff as the Atmos belt. Having said that – if you keep the overall weight in the mid twenties, and fill the pack so that its tightly loaded — it will work great :)
