Hey BPL, My friends and I are looking for trip that's 7-10 days from the end of Sept.-first week of October. Hoping to get near some mountains and anywhere in the country is open to us. Please shoot over some suggestions, thanks in advance!
Sep 10, 2015 at 4:07 pm #2226002I'd go to Yellowstone. 7-10 days is enough time to do a big C from near Mammoth all the way round Lamar and Yellowstone Lake to end at Old Faithful. Might be snowed on, will likely be cold, but you're a bit less likely to get shut down by a big storm like you might in a place like the Winds. Of course, the Sierras might be attractive late season as they apparently don't get snow anymore.
