I had been anticipating and planning this particular circumnavigation of the Gore Range for approximately one year prior to Kel and I setting foot inside Eagles Nest Wilderness area for nine straight days. My reasoning for choosing the later start date in August would ensure a lack of the seasonal snow in the higher elevations, a hopeful tail end to the summer monsoon, warmer temperatures and somewhat longer hours of sunlight. bpl1bpl2bpl3Link to Full Trip Report

That looked like a great trip, Tim. I enjoyed your writing and those photos. It was fun to see what was beyond Booth Lake, and also to see the far reaches of the Gore Range.

I too was in the same area (a bit south) this past weekend going from Copper Mtn to Silverthorne via Gore Range Loop trail. I was going over Eccles Pass on Saturday afternoon as well. Sunday I went around Buffalo Mtn. Your pics look a lil better than mine. view
